Bajen, probably the best team in the world....

Hammarby is a football team from Stockholm, which was founded in
1897. Stockholm
is the capital of Sweden, a city built upon 14 islands. Out of all
of them, Södermalm stands out, both for being the most populated and
for being the island on which Hammarby was founded. On that island I
have enjoyed my very best moments in Sweden.

To understand what Hammarby (HIF) is, one has to spend a day of a
game on Södermalm, where we all meet who are a part of the "white
and green family" (the colours of HIF). A lot of fantastic things
were made possible by this magic team in the league in 2001. We won
the first and the last. To understand what that means I can only tell
that the island was a party during the whole week. A lot of the
shops were closed and the bars were full of people. It was a
fantastic week. Luckily I could enjoy and take part of the party.

In Stockholm there are three teams, Allmänna Idrottsklubben (AIK),
Djurgården (DIF) and Hammarby (HIF). Out of these, my team is the
smallest but it also has to be said that it is the most popular team
in the rest of Sweden.

Yesterday we won against a Norwegian team and we stay alive in the
UEFA cup, something that is not yet done in HIF since we usually
loose in the first or second classifying round. In that way, the
white and green of Hammarby will colour the different cities of
Europe. The next goal is Braga from Portugal.
